What is regenerative therapy?

Regenerative therapy is a treatment that uses growth factors in the plasma from the patient’s own blood to treat symptoms of various degenerative pathologies of the spine, including those caused by general wear and tear.

What is it used for?

Regenerative therapy is commonly used as a treatment for back pain, including disc-related pain and facet joint pain, among others.

Administration of growth factors stimulates the body’s production of new cells and regenerates tissues. It can be effective for reducing chronic low back pain and improving mobility, thus improving the patient’s quality of life.

What does the procedure involve?

The treatment is a simple process performed in the operating room with the patient under sedation:

- First, a small amount of the patient’s blood is drawn
- This blood is then processed to obtain the growth factors
- The growth factors are injected into the area needing treatment

How long before it takes effect?

After treatment, the patient will notice a gradual improvement of symptoms, which becomes complete within four to six weeks.

The usual recommendation is to perform between one and three sessions of this treatment, separated by several weeks depending on the area to be treated.
