Diathermy at Instituto Clavel Rehabilitation

At IC Rehabilitation, we use the Diacare 5000 Diathermy equipment for this treatment. The sessions last 30 minutes and are painless. We usually apply diathermy as a complement to manual therapy. Like all our treatments, it will be the physical therapist who determines if this treatment is indicated, after they have performed the individualized assessment of the patient and their needs. The process in each session is as follows:

  • We ask the patient to get into a comfortable position for the treatment.
  • Our specialist determines the appropriate intensity according to the patient's needs and tolerance
  • The specialist applies a conductive cream on the area to be treated and uses the diathermy device, making circular movements.
  • The therapy is pleasant, produces a sensation of warmth and results are noticeable from the very first session.
