Dr. Nerea Joshua Olea

CLINICAL NEUROPHYSIOLOGIST SPECIALIZING IN INTRAOPERATIVE MONITORING

Dr. Nerea Joshua Olea

Clinical neurophysiologist, specializing in intraoperative monitoring and electrophysiology of vision.

Experience in national and international medical centers, combining medical practice with continuous training and participation in specialized courses.

I received my degree in Medicine from the Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU), and completed my specialization in clinical neurophysiology at the Hospital Universitario la Fé in Valencia, where I did my residency. From the beginning of my residency, I was especially attracted to this discipline which focuses on study of the nervous system from a functional and objective point of view.

Delving further into the study of intraoperative monitoring confirmed my choice, because this specialty allowed me to combine diagnosis with surgical practice. Intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring provides real-time key information for decision-making during surgery and enhances patient safety by reducing the possibility of post-surgical secondary effects.

As a professional, I am committed to clinical excellence, multidisciplinary work, and responsible and ethical medical practice. It is an honor to be on the team at Instituto Clavel and contribute to their goal of providing the best medical care to improve patients’ quality of life.
