Reformer Pilates

At Instituto Clavel Rehabilitation, we offer reformer Pilates sessions with special machines for correcting posture, toning muscles, and to help you get in great physical shape. Our team will develop a personalized plan for you based on your specific needs, and adapted to your physical condition.

In this program, you will perform exercises under the supervision of a specialist, using the Reformer tower and the Wunda chair.

Who is Pilates reformer right for?

Our reformer Pilates sessions are appropriate for anyone who wants to improve their physical performance, doing it safely, and under the supervision of a specialist, making them a good choice for people who are recovering from an injury.

All participants will have an initial evaluation by one of our physical therapists, who will determine the appropriate type of therapy and design an individualized therapeutic exercise plan.

Benefits of practicing reformer Pilates

At Instituto Clavel Rehabilitation, we always take a personalized approach to active therapy, so the primary goals of each patient are personal and unique. However, in general, you can expect these benefits from reformer Pilates:

  • Improved posture: the machine helps you maintain correct posture throughout the exercises and the physiotherapist will explain how you can maintain this good posture throughout your daily activities.
  • Increased strength: thanks to the resistance offered by the machine while working on various muscle groups.
  • Greater flexibility: the machine helps optimize the various movements you make in flexibility exercises.
  • Prevention of injuries: as a result of overall improvement in physical condition.

What is a session of reformer Pilates like at IC Rehabilitation?

The sessions are 50 minutes long. The physical therapist will ensure the activity is adapted to your level, helping you use your body to its best. At the beginning, the exercises are always performed lying on your back, which makes them comfortable, and ensures that your spine always maintains correct posture. As your strength and confidence increase, you will be able to work in a sitting position, on hands and knees on top of the platform, or even standing up.
