FUNCTIONAL NEUROSURGEON
Specialist in functional and stereotactic neurosurgery, neuromodulation, and surgical treatment of chronic pain

Dr. Pablo Andrade

I am a neurosurgeon specializing in functional, stereotactic and neuromodulation neurosurgery. After completing my Degree in Medicine (MD) at the Universidad Anáhuac in Mexico City (Mexico), I completed a PhD in Neurosciences at the University of Maastricht (Netherlands).

Following that, I pursued training as a specialist in neurosurgery at the University Hospital of Cologne (Germany). I continued at that hospital, completing a clinical fellowship in the sub-specialization of functional neurosurgery and went on to become an Attending Physician and Head of the Neuromodulation Section of the Department of Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery. Upon receiving my qualification as Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Cologne Faculty of Medicine, I continued my academic and scientific activity as Head of the Functional Neurosurgery Laboratory and Research Group, a position I continue to hold, which involves research, teaching, and development of new projects in functional neurosurgery and neuromodulation.

My training has been enriched with clinical rotations and short-term training stays at internationally respected medical centers, including Jackson Memorial Hospital - University of Miami (United States), Yonsei University Medical Center in Seoul (South Korea), and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, in London (United Kingdom).

My clinical practice is especially focused on neurosurgical treatment of movement disorders, chronic pain, and neuropsychiatric diseases. I have extensive experience in deep brain stimulation, spinal cord stimulation, and peripheral nerve stimulation.
