Exercises for relief of back pain

Back pain is a common problem. Studies show that 80% of the population suffers from it at some time in their life. Fortunately, it can usually be solved. However, in some cases it can be so severe that it becomes disabling and has a truly negative impact on quality of life, especially if it is not treated in time. 

For this reason, our first recommendation if you notice back pain, whether it’s in your neck, middle, or lower back, (cervical, dorsal or lumbar area), is to see a physiotherapist who specializes in the spine for an evaluation, and this way you may save yourself from a more serious problem in the future. 

In most cases, back pain can be resolved with manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, correcting habits and practicing good posture. Our specialist Iria Rabell recommends some exercises that can help you reduce pain and gain mobility in the lumbar, thoracic, and cervical areas of the spine.

As you can see, these are exercises that can be done whenever you need, and you can adapt them to the space you have at home. Of course, it is very important that you always take into account the physiotherapist's recommendations and do not do these exercises if they cause you pain. 

The exercises shown here are general recommendations, and for some patients, the nature of their spinal pathology may require other solutions, or exercises that are 100% adapted to their individual case. Each person and each injury is unique, so in some cases it will be necessary to combine active therapy with manual therapy, or even consider some other type of treatment from a neurosurgical medical team
